There is something new from Google Maps as Google always keep experimenting with its products to facilitate its user.It has been reported that Google is introducing a floating bar for category into its Google Maps app. This bar will show up on the top of your device screen.


The floating bar will be placed under the search bar. The floating bar shows all categories such as Restaurants , Hospitals, Cafes, parks, petrol pumps, pharmacies, supermarket and other categories. For example when you search for Petrol Pumps and then you tap on any one from category, it will show you all the nearby petrol pumps or any other category according to your requirements.

The floating bar feature is available in the latest Google Maps beta version. This new feature has also the layers button on the top left corner.

Few more features are also expected to coming in the future to Google Maps. Google have revealed these features at the Google l/O 2018 developers conference, earlier this month.

Google Maps will get the new features which include You Tab, Group Planning, Google Lens integration, Sharing ETA with friends and Your Match Score. However, among all these features Google Lens is most awaiting feature. Let’s see when will we get to see this new update.
